Gymea Kitchen 1-1
The kitchen was designed to be both highly functional and visually striking — accommodating the needs of a busy family while bringing warmth, texture, and personality to the space. A curved island bench forms the heart of the kitchen, offering generous seating for the entire family. Its rounded edge ensures a softer silhouette while providing added safety for the youngest household members by eliminating sharp corners. At the centre of the design is a stunning quartzite stone, chosen for its natural movement and rich veining, as a true statement piece within the room. This was paired with warm timber cabinetry and fresh white polyurethane with a shaker profile. Aged brass hardware and custom rangehood were introduced to further elevate the palette, lending the space a lived-in warmth. The joinery was carefully considered to conceal appliances, create ample pantry storage, and include a dedicated ‘touch down’ cupboard — a practical solution for managing daily life.  The result is a kitchen that delivers on both form and function—robust enough for family life, refined enough to elevate the home, and rich in personality through its considered materials and thoughtful details.

The concept for the bathroom was to create a calm, neutral space that feels bright, welcoming, and timeless, with a strong focus on texture and materiality rather than bold colour. We focussed on tactile finishes — materials that feel warm and authentic. Natural limestone flooring brought softness underfoot and a grounded, organic feel. This was paired with a striking stone vanity and feature wall, adding layered material interest and tonal variation. Aged brass tapware was selected for its weathered finish, which will continue to patina over time, giving the space a sense of character and quiet luxury. Skylights and a generous window were incorporated to maximise natural light throughout the day, while wall-mounted lights ensured a soft, ambient glow in the evenings. To enhance the sense of craftsmanship, handmade wall tiles were used to introduce subtle texture and an artisan quality.
