This project sought to create a spacious, light-filled family home that retains a welcoming, homely atmosphere, with particular attention to the clients’ love for entertaining. The design focused on rationalising the floorplan and strategically re-working the layout to incorporate an extension that would provide ample space for both family life and social gatherings, while maintaining an intimate and comfortable feel. The goal was to balance modern functionality with warmth, creating an environment where everyday life and hosting could unfold seamlessly.
The design embraces a minimal, contemporary palette, using subtle tones and tactile finishes to enhance the sense of tranquility and openness. Carefully selected materials such as warm timber tones, natural stone, and tactile tiling add depth and interest, creating a balanced and serene atmosphere throughout. With thoughtfully designed spaces that flow effortlessly from one to the next, the home offers both quiet retreat and an ideal setting for entertaining guests. The result is a beautifully harmonious home that feels expansive yet grounded, offering a sense of calm without sacrificing the practicality needed for family living and social occasions.
